Everyone’s skin is different and there is no one-size-fits-all solution – especially if you don’t know your skin’s needs. Ever wonder which is better, a lotion/milk or a body oil? Find out everything you need to know about your skin type below, with recommendations for the best care product. Because sensitive and problematic skin can’t use the same products as dry or normal skin.
Although the skin of the body is somewhat more resistant than the skin of the face, it should not be neglected. A simple care routine is enough to prevent various problems in later life, and it will not take up too much of your time. Small daily rituals have a cumulative effect, while we will feel most beautiful in well-groomed and high-quality skin. Did you know that it is advisable to care for the skin of the body once a day? If you do not have this habit, or perhaps you do not care for the skin of the body at all, try to introduce it at least a few times a week. It may not seem like a big problem to you now, but your skin will thank you over the years.
Whether you want to prevent wrinkles and lines on the body, dryness and flaking, or acne – this guide is for you.
Body care according to your skin type
Dry body skin prone to flaking – dry or dehydrated skin “ages” faster and needs more care. This skin type needs stronger products, and oils that deeply nourish the skin will work best for it. Body oil also prevents the skin from drying out and locks in moisture, making it a great option for preventing dry skin. In addition to care products, we also recommend drinking more water, exfoliating the body to refresh the appearance of the skin, and avoiding hot water when showering (very hot water is actually drying).
For moisturizing and anti-aging care, we recommend Silk Skin Dry Body Oil – fast-absorbing dry body oil. The luxurious combination of vitamin E and argan oil, wild rose and immortelle deeply hydrates, soothes and makes the skin firm and silky.
Normal skin – if you are lucky enough to have normal and resistant skin, you can choose a body milk, lotion or oil. Given your sensitive skin type, adjust your skin care product to your lifestyle or the seasons. You may notice that in the winter it needs more care and a heavier texture, while in the warmer months a light lotion will suffice.
Sensitive, problematic skin – a skin type that is less able to tolerate heavy textures, fragrances, classic ingredients in skincare products, or is even prone to acne. It is advisable to avoid products that clog pores and choose a lotion or oil without unnecessary irritants. Although the first choice is a light texture in the form of a lotion, sensitive skin also likes soothing and non-comedogenic oils such as jojoba, almond oil, or wild rose oil. For problematic and acne-prone skin, make sure that the products are non-comedogenic.
